trying to get an Italian Work Visa or Permit

I am a US citizen and I recently went to Italy to try out for a professional women's soccer team. I made the team and in order to live and play in Italy I need to get a Visa and work permit I believe. I was wondering how difficult it is to get one of those and what I need to do to do this? Thank you..
