Where in Italy?

We are a Canadian family of 5 - three kids: 12, 10, 6 looking to spend 2 years somewhere in Italy (Switzerland and Budapest are also possibilities).

Here are our considerations:

Foremost, we are looking for an expereince that will grow our childrens sensitbility about the world - grow their perspective

We run a business in North America. I would travel back 2-3 times a month. So i do not need to be near anyhting in particular or a business center

However, I need to be near a good airport (an hours drive would be great)

The kids, we are thinking, would go to international school - so finding a good one is important

It is important to us that we feel the warnth of the local population. We love Italians. We find them warm and very hospitable (seem to be more than Swiss - maybe not, not so sure)

We would prefer to be in a city center -though it does not need to be a big city

We are open to all and any counsel
