My plan is just a bit behind schedule to relocate permanently from the USA to Italy. I have travelled to most regions on many trips over the past 15 years. While I have some ideas about where I may wish to buy a home and settle down, I am open to suggestions from people who feel they themselves have found a compatible town or region in which to live.
Here is some background: I am a young 55, have dual citizenship (US & Italian) and would like to consider myself in semi-retirement when I move to Italy. I am married empty-nester. I would like to run a small B&B, possibly sell real estate and/or teach English (I have a certificate). I like small cities, towns or a country location (not too remote). I do not want to live in an expat community and would prefer to live amongst Italians and improve my Italian language skills. I hate golf and skiing!! I prefer a temperate climate. Any suggestions????
