Milan or Paris? What to expect socially?

I am stressing out trying to make the decision between an abroad program in Milan or Paris. I have lived in LA, Miami, DC and need high energy, flashy environments!:) (childish , I know)
I have heard so many various opinions ex: France is overrated , MIlan is as boring as Florence...ect....
I have been to Florence and Pisa and was sooooo unimpressed :/ I am hoping Milan has great nightlife and high energy! I do not care so much about buildings or history when I travel, I am more interested in the social environment and vibe of the city. Is Milan a high energy, model packed, great nightlife, flashy city as some have told me? I don't have a mental vision of what to expect on a social level ....
