help please any help

My hubby and I have always dreamed of moving to Italy but in recent years that dream has fallen to at least buying a humble second home there.

My hubby is of Italian heritage on both sides.

His mother passed when he was quite young, his father recently passed recently...but he was able to learn that his Father's Father was from Italy (Tuscany) and his mother's parents were from Italy (Father from Calabria (?) from Mendicino CS).

I am a Home Schooling Mom in the states and for some reason was always told that homeschooling in Italy does not comply with their laws, and to do so in Italy would bring big trouble as it is breaking the law. Unless we were Americans who relocated there in order to work for the US gov't (such as for the military on an American army base eg.) and then you can legally homeschool within your home state's law. Every state in the US has a different law regarding HS'ing.

Also we can not get anyone to tell us if it is legal to work and live there full time (which was originally our dream) unless you are an Italian citizen (and whatever that entails) or if you can prove Italian heritage...or if you are married to an Italian citizen. Maybe you can elaborate on this.

Can you lend any truth to any of my concerns or dispel any possible myths. We would rather live there year round, but would settle for the vacation home because of what we heard about Home Schooling there as well as finding work there.

My husband is a Video Editor (Motion Graphics Designer). I don't know how we go about getting there or to find a job in his field.

We homeschool a child with learning challenges, we have a 2nd child with more learning needs and challenges and decided to put him in a specialized school as his challenges posed severely challenging to me and I needed respite from this. They are both very sweet children.

Life has thrown many challenges our way and we would love to fulfill this dream of having a piece of Italy to call our own.

Two members in our family are Celiac (Celiaca)...we need to eat Gluten-Free (Senza Glutine) would you know if there is any availability to GF Breads/Pastas and such in an area such as Abruzzo? Or would they be more readily in L'Aquila or Pescara or not necessarily.

Please any input you can give me would greatly be appreciated! I look forward to hearing from you. Especially Carmine. Ciao.

Thankfully,
Tee
