Advice on moving to northern Italy

Hi-It looks like my husband, small child (8 months old) and I will be moving to northern Italy for my husband's company. The location of his job will be in Brescia. The company will be providing a car. I'm looking for any advice about the area. We could live in Brescia itself or outside in a suburb. For myself and little guy I'm looking for a safe area with walkability to the grocery store, parks and other shops. I will be home with him full time so an ex pat community would be great too. Not sure if anyone knows of an expat community in that area. Any advice is greatly appreciated. It has been hard to find information online. Thanks again!
