Jobs in the south of Italy?

Last year I quit my 6 figure high tech job in California's Silicone Valley to be with my boyfriend in northern Ireland. Fast forward a year and we are now married living in LA where I was living previously. The thought of going back to a demanding 12 hour day job makes me depressed. Both my husband and I are debt free which took years to achieve. We have some money saved up that can support us for a couple of years in LA. We both long to spend time in Europe where we can retire. I'm 48 and Paul is 52.....the reality is we need to work and want to work but in a place we both dream of retiring in.....South of Italy and want to have a life after work. I love the ocean and Paul's hobby is photography. Any ideas on places we should visit in the south and how to research the job market? Thank you for your support.
