US Italian Consulate

Hello, I have read a number of posts about the challenges of securing a residency visa. The process one must go through to be awarded this type of visa can be excruciatingly lengthy. challenging and expensive. Has anyone ever heard/read about an individual or couple who, after finally and lawfully securing a residency visa, sued the Italian Consulate in the USA state which initially denied and later approved the application? Thanks.
