As I read posts, it is clear to me how little some long-term visitors and Expats know about Italy geography, getting around and picking a place to buy/rent a house.
Abruzzo is both a remote, mountain region, and centrally located. In addition to the regional train that runs regularly from Rome to Pescara, there are two Ryanair hub airports.
Property is as cheap as anywhere in Italy, and the cost of living is low. Find a location near one of the regular train centers (Avezzano, Sulmona, Pescara) and you can be minutes from shopping, doctors, city centers, etc.
Consider Abruzzo when exploring Italy and you just might find that perfect place. Note: Abruzzo has many towns that are high enough in elevation to exhibit a full four-seasons climate. Enjoy the Journey!
