Moving from US to Milan with our 2 daughters

Hi! We have been planning a move abroad since my husband has been traveling to Italy and Europe frequently. I would like advice on schools for my daughters who are 11 and 8. Would anyone recommend homeschooling at first? Thank you so much would love to hear some feedback on cost of living and life in Milan.
