Payment for short-term rental

We are considering doing short-term rentals at our property in Italy. We have the option of having guests transfer money into our Italian bank account, but we may want to receive funds in US dollars via a service such as PayPal. Does anyone have any insight about using this type of payment system for European guests? I know it's really common in the US to pay via PayPal. In general, we are expecting very few US guests - mostly Italians, Germans, Swiss and Brits. Thanks
