tumble dryers

The remodel of our bathroom did not go exactly as planned, so there is room for a 7kg washing machine that is wider than it is deep, but not for a tumble dryer of any size configuration. We are thinking of putting the dryer in a closet that has the appropriate type of electrical outlet, but would need to use an extension cord. Does anyone know if it is legal in Italy to use an extension cord on a dryer?
