So I am a single male about 2 years from retiring and am very early in the expat process. Eventually, I will be traveling to Italy to investigate. My ideal goal is to spend about half the year in Italy and the remainder back in the States. My preferred location would be a medium sized city or village where: (1) the weather is not overly hot and humid, (2) where there is some culture/activity/shopping, (3) good public access. (4) reasonably affordable (around $3000/month) and (4) has some expats.
I have read that the La Marche area is an ideal location and I plan on looking into this area. Any other recommendations/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!
