Drivers license and Social Security

Hi All
An update about two topics that have been very popular in this forum. I will be moving to Austria this summer because my wife and I are free to do so since we did not purchase a house and our intent is to experience living in different places. What I have found out is that in Austria Americans do not have to pay Austrian Taxes on Social Security and government pensions, as per the tax agreement between the two states. Those taxes are only paid in the contracting state. Additionally, Austria recognizes the drivers licenses from all US States, as does Belgium, so only a simple exchange is required, once residency is established. I know moving is not an option for most of you since you are in Italy on a VISA but for those of you, Italian citizens, that do have that ability, I thought this would interest you.
