Leaving the US for Italy

My husband and I will be relocating to Italy upon my retirement, June 2019. My husband is EU (Germany) and we currently own a little condo in Italy. I took a sabbatical in 2010 for one year and obtained a spousal PdS for five years, however, it has since expired. A friend watched over our home here in the US while we were living in Italy at that time. Now we decided to make the move permanent. I have a few questions: Do I need to notify any US government agencies that we will be moving and staying abroad? If so who do we contact? We are also undecided as to sell our home here in the US or rent it out for income to support our lifestyle in Italy. I understand the responses would be relative towards selling our home, but if you have any insight, that would be helpful. Thanking you in advance for your replies....and I am so happy to be a part of this forum!
