LIGURIA ADVICE PLEASE

We are thinking of buying a small holiday home in Liguria, in one of the villages a few KMs inland, somewhere like Dolcedo or Dolceaqua.
We lived in Umbria and when we left in 2010 the Tigre zanzare was becoming a real problem.
Would anyone know what it is like in Liguria for Tigre zanzare? Are they active all year round as the winters are milder than in Toscana / Umbria.
Zanzare love us... so would be really helpful to hear from anyone who knows
