Hello All,
Apologies for the basic questions, I am at the very beginning of this process and in the time of COVID it is hard to get any straight answers! I am here on a student visa which expires in September. I live with my boyfriend in Emilia-Romagna and I would like to move here permanently. I work remotely for my job in the United States.
Is there a way to declare residency here beyond the length of my visa without returning to the USA and applying for a new type of visa?
If the local school here wants to hire me as an insegnante madrelingua (although right now the bando is suspended for reasons of Covid) can I even apply on my current student visa? And is there a way to then get a permesso di lavoro here in Italy without returning to the United states to get a new visa?
Lastly, I was unaware that I needed to apply for a permesso with my 12 month visa. I have been here since October and have not, as yet, done so. If I do so now is there a risk of penalty/expulsion?
Thank you very much for any advice!
