Italy: Elective Residency Visa Question

Hi
Does anyone in this forum have the Elective Residency Visa (residenza elettiva),

My question is with regard to taxes - do you file taxes from Italy or the country you left.

Are there any advantages/disadvantages to this visa vs applying for the residency visa.
