Residency Requirements

Hi Everyone,
I am a dual US-ITALY citizen moving to Italy now. I am getting ready to obtain my residency, and am wondering what kind of rental lease I need to present to the Anagrafe office? I was told that a short term lease was insufficient to present to the Anagrafe for purposes of obtaining residency. Does anyone know what term of lease I require to present to the Anagrafe office?
