banking problems

Hello, Everyone,
This is my first post. I am happy to have found expatexchange!
I have had a house in Monopoli, Puglia for 16 years. In order to purchase the house, I had to open an Italian bank account and receive a codice fiscale card/number (like a tax ID/Social Security number). The banking system in italy is very different to that in USA. I have had problems for 16 years, and every year when I travel to my Italian house, I spend at least 1 day meeting with someone at the bank, and trying to correct my USA address, etc. The problem is that I am not receiving any mail from this bank, including new debit cards, pin numbers, etc. I have been paying 25 Euros per month for an account that I cannot access even to check my balance! They can do nothing for me over the internet or phone, I must be there in person with an appointment to correct it all over again, only to never receive my correspondence, and I need to do it all over again on my next visit! I am finished. I need help. Are there any English speaking banks that can connect with banks in Monopoli? I would like to close my Italian bank account, and open one with a bank that has more American business policies/English Speaking customer service...I need a bank that can send my statements and new bank cards/pins to my American address. I plan to retire in Monopoli in 5-10 years, but the banking system there is making me reconsider... Does anyone have any advice?
