Hi everyone - just came across this wonderful community and already found it extremely useful.

Here's our story: we'd like to explore Italy as a potential destination for a future move, either temporary, permanent or for a remote work setup.

We're not ready to retire just yet (in our late 30) so looking for a place with decent food / social scene - restaurants, cafes, art. I'd like to use my next vacation to scout a few places:

* medium-sized cities
* 1-2 hours from an international airport
* expat / visible minority friendly
* mild winters

Right now we're in Seattle and it's a good fit for our lifestyle. If you can think of any place that somewhat fits the above list, please let me know :)
