taxes on income earned abroad.

I am moving to Italy and am concerned about the taxes I will have to pay in Italy. I am already paying taxes in the US on this income do I have to pay Italian taxes on the same income? I heard there was a period of 7 years where I will not have to pay any taxes, is this a fact? Thank you!!
