warm weather

Hi all, I've been considering moving to Italy w/in the next year. My problem is, the winters, pretty much throughout Italy are very cold, wet & dreary. The towns close up & look deserted. In the warmer times, they come alive again . I've been watching the weather throughout Italy, over the winter. I live in Central Texas & the winters here, for the past 2 years, have been too cold me! I'm a beach girl that needs warmth & sunshine & not too cold. If it were up to me, I'd prefer no seasons, other than spring & summer! Ha! I love the beach, so am hoping to find a place close to one. Am I going to have to go look for a different place to live to get my sunshine? I've been told to go to Croatia & Spain. I'll be crushed not to be in Italy. Does anyone know of an area that will give me more days of sunshine than cold wet weather?
Thank you in advance for your help.
