Hello! Thinking of moving back to Italy after 10 years in USA. My husband (Italian) and I were married and had our first child in Sicily. After ten months, we moved to the USA. Basically, we ran away. Although one of the most beautiful places on earth and full of my relatives and his, Sicily is not for people with aspirations unfortunately ( I can say this because I'm Sicilian and have lived it). No future for our children there unfortunately. So ...what's the best place to live in Italy (probably northern) that can offer children and go getters some opportunities? The thing that keeps us in the states is the schooling. Schooling in the south is almost non existent. Do expats send their children to international schools? Or are there excellent school districts/ towns with excellent schools anywhere to be found? But still In a beautiful town....oh, and if we're moving back to Italy, I need to have a water view! ?? Thank you!
