1 euro priced land outside of Sicily

My husband has mentioned and found there are areas outside of Sicily they are trying to entice people to move to/ buy to revamp the areas and communities.

That being said, I’m sure you get what you pay for. However, I’m curious if these areas are safe and close enough to towns to explore, or are they completely off the map and away from everything?

It’s hard to tell just looking online. Any info about this would be helpful.
