Translation of foreign marriage certificate for EV visa application

Hello! My wife and I are preparing our documents to apply for EV visas at Los Angeles consulate. Our marriage certificate is in Russian, it was issued almost 50 years ago in the Soviet Union. Does anyone know if the requirement of the consulate is to translate it from the foreign language into English or into Italian?
