Can any of you experienced residents comment on what is and what is not available via streaming video in Italy? I know that is a rather broad question, but what we'd like to know is whether we will completely lose access to some of our favorite programs that we take for granted as available on Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO Max, etc., plus American football games.
I've heard comments that there is quite a different selection of material, for example, on Netflix as it is streamed in Italy, from that available in the continental US. I recommended a great three season Netflix series to our American neighbors in Umbria (they have been there for over 10 years now) and they were not able to get it via their local Netflix. I had no idea material was not available worldwide. Perhaps it depends on some licensing details with each particular video production? If this is true, are there any "work-arounds' that one might find (even if it would cost a bit more).
What about things like Colbert's "The Late Show" ? Or the nightly American newscasts and commentaries we often watch on CNN and MSNBC? Or PBS?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
