ER application - NYC consulate

Has anyone on this forum applied for an ER visa at the NYC consulate? My wife and I had our appointment 2 weeks ago and I have been meaning to ask about others' experiences on this board.

-> At the beginning of our appointment the person helping us said that processing can take up to 180 days! Later, when asked about our intended departure date we told her September 25th and her response was "That's good. Not too soon and not too long from now." It seems the 180 day max estimate was probably CYA on the consulate's part, especially given that their website says national visas can take up to 90 days to process. However, 6 months would make things exceedingly difficult for us. Hence, my interest in what others have experienced working through NYC.

-> For anyone who secured an ER visa through NYC how long did it take and about when did you apply for it?
