I have read about first tasks to retire in Italy but need more info. Do you need to have a lease on a place or buy a property to start with as part of the elective residency visa application process? Of course, I am interested in cost of a small apartment in Alghero, maybe even in the old town. What can one expect to pay per month for medical coverage that is adequete for the elective visa? Any American expats living in Alghero or Sassari? I would love to make acquaintance. Thanks! Jan
