Pay As You Go (PAYG) data SIM card

We have a holiday home in Italy which we visit from time to time for about 12 weeks per year. Is anyone aware if a Pay As You Go (PAYG) data SIM card is available from any of the Italian mobile phone companies? If possible, we don't want to enter into a monthly contract which requires us to buy data every month (i.e.even when we don't need it). We ideally want to be able to top up the SIM card for 30 day (or monthly) periods when we visit Italy. Very grateful for any advice on the best way to get data at a reasonable cost on an intermittent basis. Thanks David
