I plan on retiring in Trieste next year. I was there 3/23 and returning this Fall and again Feb 2024. I don’t know anyone there I would love to hear from any expats there or anyone who has lived there to hear your impressions. I plan on renting first before making a decision on buying property. I fell in love with the city and loved the proximity to Slovenia which was stunning.
