Had our PdS renewal appt today

4 mos after sending in our YK for our renewal we finally had our Questora appt today in Milan. Long story short...it didn't go well.

After waiting for 2.25hrs my number flashed on the screens for Sportello 13. I had #83 & my wife had 85. We both went to the window and the officer was willing to take us both with me going 1st. We had all of our documents with us and even though they were submitted with the YK we were asked for various copies. Once accepted we were asked if we had an Italian bank account. Um, no. We keep money in a U.S. bank and draw from it as we pay no fees that way. Turns out we didn't need a bank account for the 1st PdS but do for the renewal. Huh??? Nobody told us that! Yep, they want us to have the bank account with proof of €37k. (keep in mind we have our other docs submitted showing proof of income as we had to do for the 1st PdS) So we have to open an account, put the € in and then go to another appt at the questora in Sept with the bank acct info. At that time they will hopefully accept it and all is good. Approximately 20 days later we return again to pick up our renewal PdS.

Also we applied and paid for a 2yr PdS and one officer said they only give a 1yr PdS for ERVs and a 2nd officer said once we give the bank info they will issue a 2yr PdS. Goes to show that it's a make it up as you go system.

This post is not intended as a point of argument but only a real life example of what happened with us.

In bocca al lupo
