I'm planning on retiring in a few years on an ER visa and so are in the beginning stages here (applying for Codice fiscale, having documents translated, &c.). and wish to rent for a year in a city (in part because of not having means of transport prior to acquiring residency but also to avail myself of city culture and the people). Some places I am considering are: Trieste, Udine, Treviso, Padova. Any thoughts? I've visited these these places but if anyone has any first-hand knowledge, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
