Places where to live, etc….

Hi all,

I apologize for the telegraphic style, but I would appreciate your insights, and advice:

1- is Assisi included in the 7% tax scheme in the province of Perugia? If not, which communes, cities, villages are close to it, and are?

2- Is Rimini part of the 7% tax scheme? If not, which cities or villages are part of the scheme in Emilia-Romagna?

3- is there any health insurance you would recommend ((we’re in perfect health. Other than dentists and opticians (routine visits) we haven’t seen doctors for years))?

4- could RRSP/RSP taken into account to fill the gap if we are shy of the 38K Euros, when applying?

5- best and reasonably affordable way to secure the required 1 year lease while not in Italy (this is the catch 22 in the visa application. What happens with the lease if the visa is denied?)

6- can I initially move to any part of Italy, and then move to settle in a 7% tax scheme zone?

7- when and how to obtain a tax number in Italy?

8- which is required for the elective visa:
- criminal record? Or,
- police record?
And,
These documents are they required from the authorities where I currently reside (San Diego, CA) only, or from I resided in the past 10 or 5 years (I.e., Ontario, Canada)?

9- is advisable to consult with an Italian immigration/relocation lawyer, and account? If so, do you have any recommendations?

10- where is the visa process is more likely to be faster and easier: the US or Canada?

11- Can we apply for the visa from within the Schengen area?

12- can a student visa be converted to an Elective Visa while studying in Italy?

13- is it feasible to contact the authorities of the locality we intend to settle in, and ask for advice or assistance in the relocation process?

That’s all I have (at least for now ?).

We would highly appreciate your invaluable support!

Gratefuly yours,
