Climate comparisons, active expat communities, friendly villages

Good evening -

I am starting my process of finding a location where I would like to live. Have visited Florence, Rome, Milan, Lugano, Como, Venice, Pisa, Tivoli and a few other small towns. Would love to hear anyone's experiences living in Italy near the Swiss, French or Austrian borders as I am considering looking closer at those areas.

Looking for a milder climate in summers (70's-low 80s F) smaller villages outside of larger cities, active expat communities and where expat/foreigners are welcome. I am in the beginning stages of looking to transition to remote working (still researching this) as not yet eligible for retirement.
