We are looking to retire in Italy and planning to buy a property in Imperia, Liguria or south of Piedmont. I hold a European citizenship, so this is not a problem.
The problem is in choosing the area. We are looking for a four-season place, snow in winter, not too hot in summer, close to the beach, a place in a small village, so Imperia in Liguria or the south of Piemonte are good.
As we explore potential properties, I can't help but notice the significant environmental risks in the area. The frequent floods, and the high susceptibility to earthquakes and landslides, are causing me to reconsider our retirement plans in this region.
I will see some properties in a few weeks, but I’m not sure this is the best area. Could you please advise? Anyone know of this is risky? Is it a better area with four seasons?
