Searching and searching online

Hello everybody, my name is Steffannie and am 32, currently living in the Netherlands where I was born and raised. I am new to this forum.

I went to Jamaica in 2001 with my parents and came back this year for backpacking. This time I've met somebody. So I went back last august to spend some more time together. Now he has applied for his Dutch visa but it's a very stressfull thing, because it's hard to get even for a short stay.

So as I am currently looking for a job (in Holland) I was thinking, why shouldn't I try it for a while in Jamaica , even if it's for a couple of months. The thing is, the last time I stayed over I kinda figured Jamaica isn't the easy country that tourists get to see (corruption / financially etc). But I could manage a couple of months coming over, but the thing is I would need a job over there to maintain a living.

My man lives in Kingston, Id personally rather go to Ochi or somewhere along the northcoast but as I'm trying to see the possibilities it doesn't matter for now where exactly.

Could somebody give me some advice on how to network in Jamaica from overseas? Or give me some links to search for jobs specifically in Jamaica for foreigners? Maybe some international companies that I could try?

I found something from the peace corps , but you have to be an US citizen. And there are alot of dutch exchange programms for jobs but not in Jamaica. At least not that I know of anyway.

I obviously don't have a working permit right now for Jamaica . Next to that I understand 75% of the patois, as long as they speak slowly. And we all know that's something that they don't do when they are excited or angry and want to tell you something.

I've completed studies in Tourism and Multimedia & Communication. My last job (6,5 year) was as a coördinator in the health care (for domestic help at elderly people houses)

Hopefully this is the right place to post something for a question like this!

thank you :)
