Dual citizenship vs Marriage exemption

Hello everyone,

Anyone have any experience with the pros and cons of dual citizenship vs marriage exemption? PICA website doesn't provide enough information.

I am a US citizen who married a JA national. My husband had a house prior to our marriage and we have been doing construction to expand.

My husband has children in JA and I want to make sure I have the same/equal rights as a JA citizen to protect my investment in the home if something should happen to him.

Any guidance would be appreciated? If no one knows, I may have to seek legal advice.
