Re-location to Atyrau

Hi Everyone!

I hope that you're all very well and enjoying expat life.

Very shortly (mid October) I am moving over to Atyrau on a full-time basis, so was hoping to get a heads up and recieve any useful tips to make the transition as smooth as can be. I'm from the UK, 29 (agonisingly close to 30!) and single. I have spent the past few years working out of Moscow so I am hoping the culture shock will not be too extreme for me.

So how is life in Atyrau? Is there a freindly epxat scene, enough entertainment to get by? I'm used to Arctic conditions so i'll be sure to pack my thermals! How is the general standard of accomodation/prices?

I am looking forward to the challenge and any useful advice would be greatly appreciated. Would also be great to make some contacts before arrival, and always looking to make new freinds so hope to see you all around soon.
