Possibilities for American expat women who want to go home to give birth?

Hi Everyone,

I'm an American living in South Korea and married to a Korean man. We are not planning to start a family immediately, but are thinking about it in the next 2-4 years. However, the more I look into it, the more I realize I would much rather give birth in the United States than in Korea. I am wondering whether that can somehow be arranged without spending tens of thousands of dollars.

Are there any other Americans living abroad out there who have gone home to give birth? Were you able to arrange some kind of health insurance that covered your delivery? How did you go about doing that?

I feel like there must be other people who have done this, but Googling is not turning up anything.
