Moving to Luxembourg

I am a US citizen moving to Luxembourg on assignment for two years. From what I can gather, I probably should get a furnished flat in the city for convenience. The intent would be to be in close proximity to restaurants, stores, etc. It appears I should also try to learn a little French.

Any comments or sugestions?
