Move to Kosovo?

My boyfriend is taking a job for a year with the UN in Kosovo. He's asked me to go with him. I don't know much about Kosovo, and when you look at the internet, it looks pretty dangerous. Is Kosovo an okay place to live? This sounds like a fun adventure, but I'm not sure I'm interested in being bombed.
