Highlands or cool places?

I have been to Malaysia before and am somewhat familiar with the MM2H program. But before I was always on vacation.
Now I am looking for cooler, low humidity places, if such exist, with expat amenities (e.g.WiFi) with reasonable costs. I know there were "Hill Stations" during the Colonial period but have never been. Can somebody please advise if there are such places and/or where best to research further. We like quiet, semi rural, natural beauty low humidity places. Do such exist in
Malaysia? Or where in Asia?
