Hi,
I will be spending a year in mexico next year on a FMT tourist visa (I plan to exit and return after 6 months), and i have been getting conflicting information about buying a car down there.
I would like to know if i am allowed to buy (and register/insure) a car in mexico, without having a FM3 / FM2 resident status.
I believe i will not be able to convert my american driving license to a mexican driving license without a FM3 / FM2 visa.
Are cars really much more expensive down there (than in the US)? the ones i see advertised on the internet from semi-nuevo lots dont look too expensive. I would really appreciate any info.
Thanks, John
