I've done research regarding getting a place in Mexico. I've mainly seen a lot of people have recommended to rent first, so you can see if you like the area or not. Which makes sense. I just wanted to see your input/feedback. What areas in Mexico City do you guys recommend? I plan to go visit in the spring.

I also saw it's better to open a checking account with Charles Schwab to avoid fees. Do you guys recommend staying with an american bank account or transferring? Does the banking there in Mexico differ from the US?
