Upheaval in Sinaloa

For the last five months or so reading comments on this forum, several people have said the western part of Mexico was safer regarding cartels, etc. compared to Cancun, playa del Carmen area. Just looking for peoples’ input on what they know regarding what’s currently happening and what they see happening in the coming months. Thank you.
