Are we making a mistake planning a move when we have one child in elementary school and one in middle school?

Are we making a mistake moving the kids out of the US? We have a 4th grader (who would be in 5th/6th grade by the time we move), and a 6th grader (who would be in 7th/8th grade by the time we move). We were planning on transitioning to an online school, but would also consider an in-person international school.
