Moving to Tripoli, Libya - any advice?

We currently live in France, my husband is French and I am Irish and we have two small children. He has just been offered a great opportunity in Tripoli (2 yr contract)but before we sign up I would love to hear from anyone who has either lived there or is currently living there as to living conditions and safety.
Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated!!
