Danang: Here I Am

After months of planning, finally got to Serene Beach Danang Hotel last night, Sep 6 at 23:30 (trying to switch over to 24-hour clock. As far as eVisas and ensuring you don't miss a crossed t or dotted i or date errors, I highly recommend using a service such as govietnamvisa.com. I completed my online eVisa in early March, and once it was approved in May, I believed I was all set. Before boarding Korean Air, their lovely staff checked my eVisa against my passport and found I had made an error in expiration dates. Of course, I couldn't board. I immediately tried an emergency eVisa search, but only had 15 minutes before take off. That's how I found govietnamvisa.com. Needless to say, I did not make my 9/4 departure, but Korean Air moved my ticket, helped me communicate with govietnamvisa.com, got all the paperwork, i.e., new itinerary to govietnamvisa.com, and next day, walked me through printing and verifying. Because of Korean Air's wonderfully helpful staff, I made it. However, a word about govietmanvisa.com. The one-day visa cost $200 instead of the $25 DIY online application. After all the hassle I caused myself, though, and after it was all over knowing how smoothly they expedite things, I would have gladly gone with govietnamvisa.com first for the few dollars more. If I had had more time, the cost would have been far less. The amazing Trang of govietnamvisa.com met me at the Danang airport, holding up a sign and everything, took my passport and letter requesting entry that Korean Air had printed for me, and then took care of every detail of my new eVisa, after which, he led me through a speedy check-in, and with passport stamped, I grabbed a Grab and for $4 USD was at Serene Beach in 15 minutes. I've realized that without serious hand-holding, I'm just too dumb to travel, so thank you Korean Air and govietnamvisa.com.
