US bank account: costs involved

Hi everyone,

I'm considering moving to the US (to Arizona, to study) and I'm wondering how much I might pay for a BANK ACCOUNT maintenance? I see there are fees virtually for everything: receiving transfers, sending transfer, maintenance itself, probably cash withdrawal or maybe even any payments... How much do you spend on all this? Are there any really cheap solutions? Does any bank offer free transfers (at least domestic ones) and free cash withdrawal?
